I've been making one thing or another for over fifty years; initially functional objects, later art. The goal is sometimes clear, yet at other times it's murky, mysterious, and elusive. Joy, elation, and excitement all play a role in whether my hands can fashion the image in my mind. The flip side is fear, doubt, and uncertainty. The juice I get from being creative is unbeatable. The process is what it's all about; the immediacy of using the tools, changing the material, and wondering, "will this turn out how I see it?".Creativity and making art is my favorite space to get lost in; it can be a freeing space, hard to match.
